BAYT AN-NURHOUSE OF LIGHT Support the foundation ↗

A re-entry housing initiative · Georgia

A place to begin again.
A foundation built together.

We are developing a faith-centered home and structured re-entry program for Muslim men returning from incarceration.

Before we can open a door, we need to build the foundation: a responsible organization, a practical program and a suitable place to call home.

The purpose behind the house

Returning home should come with a way forward.

Leaving incarceration can mean rebuilding routines, finding work and reconnecting with a community—all at once. A stable place to live can be part of that foundation.

Bayt An-Nur’s proposed approach brings together structured housing, learning upon the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah as understood by the Salaf, practical support and personal responsibility.

What we are working toward

More than a bed.
A structure for the next chapter.

01

A stable home

A proposed supervised residence with clear expectations, respectful house routines and practical support.

02

Faith and daily structure

Space for worship, reliable religious learning and consistent habits grounded in responsibility.

03

Steps toward independence

Planned help with documents, employment preparation, community connections and the next housing step.

These are program intentions, not services currently being delivered. Capacity, location, staffing and opening dates have not been established.

The first milestone

Build the organization.
Then build the home.

Our initial priority is organizational readiness and preparing the application for federal tax-exempt recognition.

We will set the first fundraising goal from verified fees and approved costs. Property and residential operations belong to later, separately budgeted phases.

A clear path from intention to action

Where we go from here.

Establish the foundation

Incorporation and EIN details have been supplied. Next: check original records, complete governance and financial controls, and determine the appropriate IRS application route.

Current priority

Prepare the first campaign

Approve an itemized formation budget, verify fundraising registration or exemption, and connect an organization-specific giving account.

Before fundraising

Design the residential program

Set participant criteria, safeguarding arrangements, staffing, daily structure, referral boundaries and a realistic operating budget.

In development

Secure a suitable property

Assess affordability, zoning, occupancy, accessibility, insurance and local operating requirements before committing to a site.

Not yet secured

Prepare to welcome residents

Confirm operating readiness, trained people, referral relationships, funding reserves and an approved admissions process.

Trust begins with clarity

Support the work.
Understand the stage.

No invented impact numbers, no photographs presented as our future property, and no claim that a home is already open.

Our approach to accountability →
Is housing available now?

No. Bayt An-Nur is in development and has not secured a residential property. We are not accepting residents or housing applications. Contacting us does not reserve a bed.

What would the first funds support?

The proposed first campaign would support organizational readiness and the appropriate IRS application fee. Other startup expenses need itemized estimates and board approval before being included in a public goal. It would not be presented as funding an already-operating home.

Is Bayt An-Nur a recognized 501(c)(3)?

No. The incorporator confirms that only the Articles of Incorporation have been filed; an IRS exemption application has not yet been submitted. We do not describe an application as pending or promise tax deductibility.

Can I help before the home opens?

Yes. We welcome conversations with potential board members, property contacts, employers, experienced re-entry providers and people who can help develop a responsible program. No partnership is implied until agreed.

Will this provide clinical treatment?

The proposed residential model focuses on stable routines, religious learning and practical re-entry support. It is not being presented as a licensed treatment facility. Medical, mental health and other specialist needs would require appropriate qualified providers and clear referral arrangements.
